Lukas Rossi Acoustic Tour: Wish I was in Toronto!

Tonight is Lukas' last acoustic performance in his hometown. A lot of peeps are attending this show at Lee's Palace in Toronto...*hears a crowd cheering somewhere in the distance*.

I was lucky enough to see him perform in Canada 3 times but I know some folks have yet to see 1 performance so I put this mini-concert together from one of the early summer acoustic shows I attended, enjoy!

I've been neglecting my bloggidy blog lately, haven't I? Seems like yesterday it was the beginning of summer and now the first scents of fall are in the air.

The Peeps & Lukas Rossi

So the peeps and I put some flyers together for Lukas' accoustic tour...

then hopped into a 'banana yellow' PT Cruiser and headed to LA this Saturday...

Are we there yet?

We met up with our friends Ari and Melinda, then drove up to Hollywood. The peeps had many good ideas on where to post flyers...

They did get a little distracted window shopping at Hustler...

but they returned to the task at hand...promoting Lukas' upcoming show at 'The Key Club' this Wednesday! After we handed out flyers by outside some clubs, we stopped by a local place for a bit of refreshment. The best part of my peeps LA adventure was of course getting to hang out a little with Lukas and his lovely wife.

Lukas Rossi: All Is Fair Between Love & Lust Tour

The tour starts next week!!!! We've all heard samplings of Lukas' new songs and they are beautiful. I haven't much else to say except that I'm looking forward to seeing the familiar faces of those fans I have met this past year and meeting some new fans of Lukas Rossi!

Fact: I'm a die hard fan of INXS!

Fiction: I'm in love with JD Fortune! LOL!
Anyone who knows me well would realize the object my affection is the hot Aussie guitarist, Mr. Tim Farriss!

Fact: I am a fan of Lukas Rossi!

Fiction: I'm in love with Lukas Rossi!
While I love his music, I do not lust for Lukas. If I was twentysomething or hell even thirtysomething, I might entertain the thought...after all he is a sexy beast! Unfortunately, I cannot get past the fact that I was in high school when Lukas was barely out of diapers!

Fact: I'm a techno junkie and 'puter nerd.

Fiction: I spend 24/7 posting on message boards.
Wish I could spend more time with my posse and bsc peeps over at rockbandlounge.com! I do spend most of my waking hours in front of a computer but I'm an accountant and well...that's what we do, crunch the numbers all day on a computer.

Fact: I go to lots of concerts.

Fiction: I'm chasing rockstars!
I do go to lots of concerts...lots of concerts! If there is an after-party offered to the fans..I go...why the hell wouldn't I?

Fact: We Are Thrown Together...like it or not...

Gotcha! Sorry, no shrine set up in my house with pictures or tour souvenirs by lit candles. My memorabilia is intangible - sights & sounds mixed in with some crazy adventures...umm and sometimes mis-adventures while going to concerts!

I'm ready for some summer adventures on the road to Lukas Rossi's Acoustic Tour. In 20 days the All Is Fair Between Love & Lust tour kicks off at The Key Club in West Hollywood.

mamaWATT with Lukas at Bite of Las Vegas!

She's almost 70 years young but still rocks and she loves Lukas' music. I asked her why she liked Lukas after she saw him perform live on RS:SN for the first time. She couldn't quite explain it a first but later said it was something she saw in his eyes that touched her heart and of course she thought he rocked the song too! She's had a few fan encounters with Lukas and he has been a real sweetheart to her each time.

Like mamaWATT, some of us have had an opportunity to meet Lukas before or during the tour. He has made himself accessible to his fans whenever possible and truly appreciates our enthusiasm. He has been pleasantly surprised by how much we know about his Cleavage / Rise Electric music and our personal takes on the meaning of his lyrics. I always get a kick after watching another fan meet Lukas and hear them remark on how different he is off the stage or away from a camera. Underneath the stylish clothes and behind those sunglasses is a real person..a little humble, a little brash, a little boyish, a little wicked...and a helluva lot of talent! That's why I'm a fan.

Music! Music! Music!

It's really great to see Lukas back on myspace.

After all the cyberland upheaval in recent months, I'm glad to see Lukas as resilient as ever, communicating with his fans, and sharing his excitement about the new music he's working on.

While my first instinct is to send Lukas a myspace message asking him to answer so many questions I have about his music and vision, I know the chances of getting a reply are slim to none. He must receive hundreds of messages every week since he has already added over 3,500 friends!

My current Top Questions:

1. When will we be hearing the new music?
2. Will you be including any unreleased Rise Electric songs on your next CD?
3. If you answered yes to question 2, which songs?
4. Will you be booking any gigs in the next month?

Oh, nevermind! Whatever songs Lukas Rossi presents to us are sure to be creative and passionate. If Lukas stays true to what he believes in and feels, it will translate into some amazing music...

From Vegas to Aukland!

Good sound, bad sound. Cover songs vs. RSSN originals. Large crowds, small crowds. I attended eleven of the RSSN concerts and witnessed a variety of highs and lows on the tour. In my opinion, one thing is for sure...each and every time Lukas Rossi stepped onto the stage he brought his voice, his energy, his style, his vulnerability, and his passion.

How I became a fan of Lukas Rossi: Part I

Once upon a time....nevermind, this is not a fairytale!

I have loved all kinds of music since I can remember. One of my first recollections is me as a toddler listening to the Beatles "Yellow Submarine" booming out of my dad's stereo speakers. One of my first albums was Led Zeppelin II gifted to me from my brother. On a fateful day back in the early eighties, I was watching MTV when a video came on with a band from Australia called INXS (inks? LOL!). The video was for their song 'The One Thing' and well, it was the beginning of a lifelong fanship for me. When their lead singer Michael Hutchence died in 1997, it was a sad day for millions of INXS fans.

I kind of floated musically for the rest of the 90's and into the new century. So much music playing out there was radio worthy but not enough to get me out there to see a concert or become a real interested fan.

Fast forward to July 2005...I had vaguely heard about INXS doing a reality show but wasn't keen on the idea of them replacing their singer via the television media. Fate once again steps in as I was channel surfing and I happened to tune into the first episode of Rockstar: INXS. Well, if you know me then you know what happened after that..LOL!

Fast forward to late June 2006...I was feeling the withdrawals a few days after my last INXS concert and perusing around rockband.com. I chatted with the other INXS fans on the site on our feelings about another Rockstar show. I still wasn't interested myself since I am not much for the reality TV thing and why would I care about Tommy Lee, Jason, or Gilby? forming a band..meh!

Click, click, click...look here are the 'rockers' for the new season. Dilana, she looks like a rocker...Ryan, oops can't get to the link for his music, oh well...Lukas, ugh, hasn't punk gone out of style years ago.

I decided to click the link I had found to this song called 'Riddled'. I couldn't get the video to play but was able to listen to the song. Well, it was love at first listen. Something in his voice touched me inside in a way that's hard to explain...kind of like when I listen to Placido Domingo sing 'Vesti la giubba' from Pagliacci (I love Placido too...I am not ashamed!)

Okay,this is really getting long! Snip, snip to the editing room floor...let's just say the more of Lukas' music I heard, the more my appreciation for him as an artist became and the more I wanted to see good things happen for this musician..like winning this reality show and becoming the lead singer of Rockstar:Supernova!

I think I'll wait to continue my story in another post..on to the matter at hand!
